About the Library

Our College has good library facilities with number of text and reference books of national and international standards. To make the students the chance to look at the recent advances and research in science in general, and Pharmacy in particular, we provide number of reputed national and international journals, both printing and digital.

Computer facility with internet facility is also provided to enable the students to search the knowledge in digital platforms

9.00 AM to 5 PM on all working days

Rules and regulations

  1. Students must leave their belongings outside the library. They can bring notebook alone inside the library for taking notes
  2. Students must maintain pin drop silence
  3. Students should not damage any materials of library.
  4. Students can take the book for 15 days using their library card. They must return or renewal the book after 15 days. Students are allowed to renew the books for 2 times continuously using 1 token.

Central Library

Apart from our college library, our students and faculties have a chance to utilise the resources available in gigantic Central Library situated in KARE.

The Central Library was started along with the institution in the year 1984. It is a two storied building built on a land area of 69,822 square feet and fully air-conditioned with the seating capacity of 1000. The Central Library strives to its readers in the interest of creativity and innovation, the predecessors of Research and Development. It has a well-equipped library stacking  95737 volumes of choice books in various engineering, management, advanced sciences and general.  The library subscribes to 412 periodicals in print at national and international level.  Besides, the library has 3383 bound volumes of periodicals, 5708 Project Reports.

We are providing an evolving technology environment with effective tools and services for the discovery and delivery of information to our users and comfortable space for individual study and learning, equipped with appropriate infrastructure.

The library is subscribing online resources such as IEEE (ASPP), ASCE, DLINE, SAGE, India Business Insight Database and Raxter Research Assistant Tool. To enable the users to browse these e-journals, e-learning materials, digital library collections of this campus and other online journals a separate E-Library has been established with 48 computer systems. Recently video and Web courses developed by IIT under NPTEL were procured. A Separate Media Resource Centre is created (MRC) for accessing these resources.

The library services have been automated with the software named “MODERNLIB”. It is a menu driven, interactive, user-friendly package, designed with utmost care to meet the students’ information needs, such as the availability of books, status of the books, user details etc. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is made available to enable the students and staff to search the availability of books, current status of books and user details.

The services provided by the library includes Lending service, Reference service, Inter Library Loan, Internet Browsing, Current Awareness Service (CAS), and Selective Dissemination of Information  (SDI) Service.

Working Hours

The Library working hours are as follows:

Working days        :           9.00 a.m. – 9.00 p.m.

Saturday                   :           9.30 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.

The library is closed on Sundays and other notified holidays

PRINT RESOURCES

Books

  1. Our well-equipped library stacking 95737 volumes of books in nearly 24502 unique titles in various engineering subjects, management, basic sciences and general.
  2. Resource Cell for Competitive Examinations and Higher Education is a cell where the books for preparing competitive examinations i.e GATE, GRE, TOEFL, CAT, TNPSC, UPSC & IES and for Numerical and Quantitative Aptitude, Tips for Interviews, Data Interpretation etc are available.

Journals & Magazines

  1. The central library is subscribing more than 412 journals/magazines in print at national and international level. Journals/magazines (current issues and back volumes) cannot be borrowed.
  2. The issues of the particular volumes are bound together and stacked in the Back volumes section for reference. 3383 back volumes are available in the central library.

Arrangement of Print Resources

  1. Books are arranged according to subject based on Universal Decimal Classification Scheme.
  2. Rack guides are provided for book racks.
  3. Periodicals subscribed/received by the library are arranged alphabetically for each programme in current periodical section.
  4. Back volumes of periodicals are arranged according to alphabetical order of subject in Back volume section.
  5. A rich reference collection for referencing within the library is available in the Reference Section.

BORROWING FACILITY

  • Books will be issued only on production of valid user ID card.
  • Books borrowed must be returned on or before the due date.
  • Normally one renewal is permitted to the students and two renewals allowed to the staff.
  • Books will have to be physically presented for renewals.
  • Books will be renewed if there are not reservations.
  • Users are requested to verify the physical condition of the books before borrowing.
  • For late return of books, overdue charges will be collected as per rules in force. (Re.1/day for first 15 days, Rs.2/- for the next 15 days and Rs.5/- for 31st day onwards).
  • Users should deposit their bags/belongings (Other than valuables) in the personal belongings counter located at the entrance.

Loss of Library Books

The borrowers are responsible for the books borrowed on the library tickets. Loss of books should be brought to notice of the librarian immediately. However, the borrower must replace the lost books with the latest edition along with the overdue charges and service charges, if any, within 30 days. If in case the book lost is out of print, thrice the cost of the books at the time of purchase in the library along with overdue charges, if any, will be collected.
